My name is Alexzander C. J. Adams. You can call me Alexz, or Alexzander, or Mr. Adams – whichever is more comfortable for you – or for Paul Simon fans, you can call me Al! Opposing counsel doesn’t always have such jovial words for me. If you are wondering, you’ll have to ask my mother why there is a “Z” in the middle of my name. I’ve often wondered myself… Yes, my name is spelled Alexzander Adams, and not Alexander Adams….
So what does a bankruptcy attorney do? I get people out of debt. As fast as I can. I can do this for you in ways that you may not know are part of the bankruptcy system in this country. For instance – I can stop garnishments, stop law suits, stop foreclosures, get repossessed cars back, get driver’s licenses reinstated, resolve your delinquent taxes, eliminate medical debt and credit cards, get rid of old lease and rental debts, stop debt collectors bugging you, and in many cases, if your debt collectors or creditors don’t follow the rules of bankruptcy, I sue them, and recover some money for you to compensate you for the harassment you should not be experiencing in the first place. In a big picture, I cut the chains of debt in my client’s lives so they can get a good night’s sleep, refocus on what’s important like family, friends, careers, and life goals, and get moving as fast as possible away from the debts of the past. I can do this for you.
I am a Scholastic Merit Graduate of Western State University College of Law. Through law school I was able to maintain a full academic scholarship. During this time I served as an editorial board member of the Law Review, president of the school’s chapter of the American Association of Justice, and I clerked for the Honorable Richard T. Fields, then Presiding Judge of Riverside County, California.
Prior to my adventures in law, I had a varied career—working as an assistant to a large Maryland law firm, a marketing manager for a number of large international promotional marketing companies including a major record label, and as an in home sales representative for large HVAC and plumbing companies in Maryland and Washington, D.C., while at the same time I (unsuccessfully) pursued a career playing bass guitar in a touring East coast rock and roll band (although I did manage to successfully earn an MBA in marketing and finance from the University of Baltimore during the ups and downs of touring). After law school I started a private consumer bankruptcy practice which to date has helped thousands of clients get out of debt.
I started my law firm to help people get back on track with their lives through bankruptcy and other debt relief options.
I started my firm to help people. Not banks. Not insurance companies. Not governments or lawmakers. But people. People who have been beaten down by debt collectors and financial hardship. People who need a fresh start in life—free from the burdens of financial slavery that are so common or prevalent in society.
One client or family at a time, I help people recover from crippling debt, garnishments, vehicle repossessions, home foreclosures, student loans, usurious car payments, pay day loans, tax debts, domestic support arrears, past due utilities, and a litany of other financial hardships. I pledge to do my best to go the extra mile for my clients—no matter your individual situation.
Although it is a humbling experience to find yourself in need of my help, don’t be afraid to pick up the phone and call me. There is never a fee for initial contact or inquiries, and you never know what I may be able to do to help resolve your financial troubles until you call me – no matter how dire your situation may seem. If there is a way to help you, I’ll find it.
I am a member of the Oregon State Bar and the Federal Bar Association. I received my undergraduate degrees in Marketing and Economics from Towson University just outside Baltimore, Maryland, where I also minored in music performance (which is perhaps why I am so endeared to those in financial need). I went on to receive a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Baltimore, where I majored in marketing and finance. I received my law degree from Western State University in Irvine, California. I was fortunate to be on the editorial board of the Law Review while maintaining a full academic scholarship for the duration of my studies.
I am married and reside in Portland Oregon with my wife of 18 years Bridget, and my son Pierce. I enjoy a range of activities including hiking, tennis, and bodybuilding. I am a seasoned guitar player having toured the east coast with an original rock band before finding my ‘real’ job as a lawyer. I volunteer as a judge for the Beaverton Youth Peer Court, which attempts to intervene early when good kids take a turn for the worse, exposing them in a teaching manner what could happen to them if they continue down the road of poor choices, while holding them to account for their poor decisions as well as a volunteer mediator for the Washington County Small Claims court system. In my spare time, I have a number of other professional activities that I indulge through my consulting company, which focuses on revitalizing small businesses, driving growth, and increasing profits to higher levels through the purposeful practice of business disciplines.
